VIP Preview Party + My First Blowout at Indy's New DryBar

Happy Friday, everyone! I was invited to attend the VIP preview party for Indy’s new Drybar (the first one in Indiana!) and had the best time — and boy is this place amazing, you guys. Keep reading for photos from the event + my experience getting my first blowout!

First I need to say how absolutely BEAUTIFUL this salon is! It’s located on the north side of Indy across the street from the Fashion Mall at Keystone, next to Patachou on River Crossing Blvd. The environment is so light and fun, not to mention all of the employees are incredibly sweet, you can sip champagne while you get styled, and they have chick flicks playing 24/7! It’s seriously a dream.

If you’re unfamiliar with Drybar, it’s a salon that does blowouts only, no cuts or color, for $45. They wash your hair and you get to choose from a booklet of different styles including everything from beauty waves to old Hollywood curls, sleek and straight, and more. Everything is named after alcoholic drinks and mixers, hence the name “Drybar.” All of their products smell CRAZY GOOD (I’d love them in a candle scent, honestly) and come in the cutest pastel packaging along with bright yellow hot tools.

I chose the Mai Tai style (click here to see how you recreate it at home) which is essentially beachy waves with volume, smoothness and some texture, which is pretty much me in a hairstyle. The Notebook happened to be playing during my appointment, so I got to sit back, relax, sip my water (alcohol triggers my migraines, ladies and gents) and just enjoy. My stylist was really courteous of my needs and what I wanted, even though I pretty much gave her free rein since I’m not picky. She washed my hair for so long too and I loved every second of it!

If you haven’t heard, there’s an episode on the “How I Built This” podcast (such a great one if you haven’t discovered it yet) sharing how the owner, Alli Webb, started the company and how it got to where it is today. I listened to this last year and found it so interesting and inspiring — definitely give it a listen!

I think everyone should try Drybar at least once in their life, but it’s also a great pampering service to keep up with for a little relaxation and confidence boost. The Indy location is absolutely stunning and I know each and every one of you is going to love it just as much as I did. I even ended up taking home a bottle of their shine mist, Sparkling Soda, because it was too good to pass up.

You can follow along with my entire event and blowout experience on my Instagram story!

The event is saved under my “Events” story highlight, and the blowout is saved on the “Collabs” one. HUGE thanks to Drybar for making my first blowout experience so amazing. You can shop the outfit I wore to the event below. Have a great weekend, everyone!

*I received the blowout for free from Drybar. All opinions are my own.
