Bohemian Dog Beds
My new obsession? Fancy, bohemian dog beds that are completely unnecessary, of course! 😂 If you’re a sucker for anything super aesthetically pleasing like I am, you’re probably lusting over one of these too. My interest sparked a month or two ago when I randomly stumbled upon these cute beds from an Australian shop on Instagram. This led to me searching high and low for ones at different price points, in addition to possible ways I could DIY my own (I’m still working on that one). A handful of you reached out to me about it, so here are my best finds!
Let’s chat about these for a second. Most of these are a lot to spend on a dog bed, in my opinion, so that’s why I’m sharing cheaper alternatives as well for my fellow budget-lovers. I think the benefit of choosing to invest in one of these is if you want it to double as an eye-catching decor piece in your home that flows with your other furniture. Choosing to spend more likely means it will last longer, but again, it’s a lot to spend on a pet item and it may be safer to go the cheaper route so you can easily replace it if need be — especially if you fear your dog may be a chewer. If you’re really wanting one of the more expensive ones but you can’t bring yourself to buy it (I’m not sure I could have — a friend got it for us as a gift!), it would be great to ask for this Christmas. Anyway, let’s get into the options!
WHERE TO BUY
DESIGN DUA
This is where Lucia’s bed is from! According to their website, Design Dua is an HGTV Best New Product award winner for their unique use of traditional Ghanaian craft techniques. The beds are made with natural elephant grass and the cover is removable for easy cleaning. They have about 10 different styles and they come with the pictured cushions — make sure you check that because not all the beds I’ve found online come with the cushions and that would be another expense to consider! We have the large size, so read the description to make sure you get the right one for your pup. Prices start at $125 and I can confirm that the quality is amazing. Click here to shop.
SUNDAY ISLE
This is the shop where I first saw these bad boys and fell in love with them. They have about 15 or so different styles and these are SO CUTE as well! However, these are the most expensive ones I’ve come across, particularly if you’re in the market for a larger size. They also ship out of Australia, so shipping costs are another thing to consider. I’m pretty much obsessed with everything this shop sells because it’s all right up my alley. I feel like if I owned my own shop, it would be so similar to this! I ordered a collar for Lucia that should arrive in the mail later this week! I can’t wait to see it on her and I’ll be sure to share my thoughts on it too. Beds start at just under $140. ETSY: ZURI ROSE & CO
I love shopping on Etsy and supporting small businesses, so this was one of the first places I looked. Like I mentioned, this is one of the shops that doesn’t provide cushions with their beds (at least not currently, so double-check!), but they have so many cool designs to choose from. This would be a great option if you already have a cushion you want to use or if you want to make one yourself that matches your home or something. The prices range from $140-190, which is pretty comparable to the others. Click here to shop.
AMAZON
Here are some cheaper alternatives on Amazon! Keep in mind that a lot of these are smaller and don’t come in bigger sizes, so keep an eye on the dimensions. Again, these ones could allow for a fun DIY opportunity to make your own cushion, or you could put the money you saved on this bed toward purchasing a cool custom cushion or something on Etsy. You could also add fun boho tassels for extra detail!
