Blogging Q&A #3: Why I Blog (+ VIDEO)

Blogging Q&A #3: Why I Blog (+ VIDEO)

Hi everyone! Today’s post is another blogging Q&A with a video included answering some blogging questions I’ve received, as well as elaboration on why I blog and my best tips for those that are interested in starting one of their own!

First I want to clarify that this post is titled #3 and the video is titled #2 because this is my third Q&A post here on my blog, but only the second video since the first blog post didn’t include a video. Kind of confusing, I know. Let’s jump into it. 🙂

Click play to hear me answer some of my most frequently asked questions (how to start a blog if you’re embarrassed of what people will think, what app I use for graphic design elements of my Instagram story + more!), followed by answers to a few additional ones below.

Q: Why blog? What’s the point?
A: It can be difficult to understand what blogging really is from an outside perspective. Blogging is all about sharing, building and being a part of a community. It’s about being transparent and giving people someone to relate to, knowing they’re not alone. It’s about experiencing things for people first so they know what they’re getting into. It’s about sharing a piece of your life and creating a time capsule of sorts to look back on for years to come. It’s for making connections and building friendships. If you choose, it’s about starting, maintaining and growing your own business. It’s about building your own empire, day by day. Blogging  can play a variety of roles within the lives of people who do it, but everything I mentioned rings true for me.

Q: How do you make time for it all?
A: To be completely transparent with you, I’m a workaholic. Blogging, working a full-time job as a digital designer, doing freelance work through my creative shop on the side, being a wife and taking on the new task of searching for our first home is more than a full plate — but I wouldn’t trade any of it (okay, maybe the house hunting part sometimes because it’s kind of hellish). I feel so much self-accomplishment looking at this little space on the Internet that I’ve created and have maintained completely on my own for the last two and a half years. It truly fuels me. I’ve never found a hobby or outlet that I’m as passionate about as this and it feels so damn good. When you find something you’re this passionate about, it doesn’t feel like work and when you’re not doing it, you’re wishing you were. Future opportunities have me thrilled to see where I can take my blog, and the hours of hard work and dedication are always worth it. I’ve kept up with my blog since the day I started and it has never ever felt like a chore to me. That’s when you know you’ve found “it” — the thing you’re supposed to be doing. It’s not always easy, but when the passion is there, it’s worth every second!

Q: Is there an end goal?
A: The goal from day one has been to pursue my passion because it makes me happy. Growing the sustainability of what has turned into a business is a goal too, and I can’t wait to see where this takes me!
