Meaningful and Foolproof Anniversary Gift Ideas
Mine and Justin’s one year wedding anniversary is only a week and a half away, and I seriously can’t believe it. The occasion has had me brainstorming some fun gift ideas that are unique and not tacky or useless like some heavily-advertised sappy gifts can be. Keep reading for four meaningful and foolproof anniversary gift ideas that your spouse is guaranteed to love and will appreciate more than anything!
I’m not joking when I say I searched high and low for anniversary gift ideas this year. I’ve given really great gifts since the beginning of our relationship, so I kind of felt like I was running out of ideas. If you feel like you’ve already given every gift imaginable and don’t want to waste money on something you he or she may not like or use, I’ve got you covered!
I was so excited when Jennifer of Modern Map Art reached out to me because I had considered getting one of these star maps for years and just hadn’t pulled the trigger yet. This is a perfect gift for any type of partner thanks to its minimalistic, classic vibe. I chose to feature the sky on our wedding night and included our anniversary date and the coordinates of where we got married as a special little touch. These prints come in all different sizes and can be ordered in various forms including posters (that’s what we chose), framed prints or even canvases. You can customize it with a handful of font and color options to cater to your spouse’s taste. You seriously can’t go wrong with this one & I can’t recommend it enough!
Justin is a HUGE wallet lover and this is a gift he requested this year. I swear he buys a new one every couple months (though he would disagree), but I guess I can’t judge since I do the same with shoes. 😉 Since he is such a big wallet guy, this gift is meaningful because it’s something custom that he loves. Gift your significant other something new of what they really love or collect! This wallet is guy-approved because Justin hand-picked it himself, so no worries there. He really loves the magnetic money clip feature and the option to personalize it adds a little something special. You could also include a note or gift cards to his favorite restaurants or stores inside as a fun surprise.
I know this is super basic, but it’s something you know they’re going to love without a doubt. If you’re on a budget or wanting to get your spouse multiple items, this is a good one to throw into the mix. A framed photo is something they can place on their desk at work and can legitimately enjoy every single day, which truly is the best kind of gift you can give. I would include a personal note with it as well to make it more heartfelt and maybe share your thoughts on the past year with them, what you love and appreciate most about them, what you’re looking forward to in your future together, etc. If your partner’s love language is words of affirmation, this is the way to go!
If your spouse isn’t really into material items, tickets to an event, concert, or travel destination you can attend together is a generous surprise they probably won’t expect. This is something we don’t often purchase for ourselves, so it’s something really thoughtful and memorable to receive. Back to the love language thing — this is great for those who’s #1 is quality time. Justin isn’t really into concerts or sporting events, but if he was, I’d totally go this route.

Though somewhat basic, these truly are gifts that are meaningful, sweet and thoughtful that won’t make you feel like you’re wasting money.
