Inspiration for Clay’s 2nd Birthday (Beach Theme)
It’s that time of year again! My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I’ve been hard at work planning her party. You guys loved when I did a post like this for her first birthday last year (daisy themed), so I had to share it again this year. Planning her party last year unleashed a huge passion that I didn’t know I had for party planning, so I’ve been looking forward to this all year! I love scouring the internet for the best stuff, looking for deals and curating various items for a cohesive theme. It’s so fun for me.
For her second birthday, I decided to go with a beach theme because 1) it’s cute and 2) she plays with shells that my family brought her home from the beach every. single. day. The color scheme is going to be light/muted purples, blues and sea green with a few touches of pink. Here’s what I plan to do + everything I’ve bought so far:
The structure of the party is going to be pretty similar to last year’s. We’ve having it at our house again and I want the main decor pieces to be balloons, a sign and a couple of decorated tables. I’m going to drape fish netting across our kitchen island and sprinkle confetti on it, and have real shells, the cake, plates and napkins there. I’m using the same baker as last year (she’s the best!) for the cake and I’m going to have it be blue, lavender and sea green. On top, I’m going to put really cute assorted beach cake toppers that are mermaids, shells, a seahorse, etc. (linked below).
For food, we may do a soup bar with assorted soups in crockpots like we did last year (perfect for the fall) with light snacks + cake.
For Clay’s outfit, I’m going to have her wear this fun pastel rainbow tulle dress and do a couple fun accessories (she LOVES accessories these days) including shell hair clips and a little shell bag.
I’d love to do a fun activity at her party and do gift bags one day, but she doesn’t have any little friends yet, so that will be a future thing!
