Home Decor Wishlist: Items We're Buying Next

Hi everyone! With this bitter windchill, I’m cuddled up at home and not moving out from under my blankets as long as humanly possible. Anyway, today’s post is my home decor wishlist featuring the items we’re planning to buy next to add to our first house. Keep reading for inspiration + links to shop the pieces I have my eyes on!

BRASS LIGHT FIXTURE FOR LIVING ROOM

I’m almost embarrassed to say we still have or disassembled fan that came with the house dangling from our living room ceiling. The only reason it’s still there is because I haven’t bit the bullet and picked a light fixture yet! I know what style I want, I just need to check the measurements, decide how much we want to spend and buy accordingly.

Here are some of my faves:

MACRAME LIGHT FIXTURE FOR GUEST BEDROOM

I think I want to put a light fixture of this style in our guest bedroom. Since it’s a spare room, I want to have a little fun with it and I think a macrame light fixture would be the perfect touch. I just need to make sure we get one that is the right size and not too small for the space since these tend to come as smaller accent pieces.

OVERSIZED FULL-LENGTH MIRROR FOR LIVING ROOM

I have a vision of putting a full-length, wide, rounded top mirror in the wall space between our living room and dining room where our Christmas tree was. This is a space I had no idea what I wanted to do with until I brainstormed the mirror idea, and now I can’t get it out of my head! The only frustrating thing about it is that these bad boys are expensive and the one I like is out of stock everywhere. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

KITCHEN CABINET HANDLES/PULLS

You guys have been DYING to see the finished kitchen since I painted the cabinets, but I’ve been waiting until we install the handles/pulls before I show you guys! We plan to replace the kitchen island countertop with butcher block and eventually swap out the rest of the countertops in there as well, but I at least want to get the knobs on before I share my blog post reveal.

WEDDING PICTURES

I love our pictures so much and we have yet to print any for ourselves yet! After coming across a photo on Pinterest (that I can’t find currently… oops), I’m inspired by the idea of putting black and white prints (maybe in color, I’m not positive yet) in white frames and placing them on this pop-out wall between our living room and kitchen/dining area (next to where the oversized mirror would be). Hard to explain, but I’ll show you when it comes together! In short, I need to order photos and frames.

LIVING ROOM TV STAND

I love our current TV stand that we’ve had for a couple years now (a simple whitewash one from Target), but we’re looking to replace it with a larger furniture piece like this one where we can store Justin’s games and consoles for a cleaner look. I like that it would have our TV sit a little higher up as well. I like this one from Target’s Opalhosue line, but there are also some mid-century modern ones from Wayfair that I like as well. I’m not sure which one we’ll go with yet!
