Friday Favorites

Hi everyone! This week has been one of the most stressful ones ever for me, so I’m so happy it’s come to a close and I’m finally able to sit down and talk to you guys. This post may be a little more brief side since I’m so drained (I’ll chat more about that at the end of this post), but I wanted to get something up for you guys on my usual posting day. If you’re looking to add a little newness to your life, keep reading for some of my recent favorites!

HBO Now Documentaries
As I mentioned in my last Friday Favorites post, I signed up for a one-week free subscription of HBO Now. I forgot to cancel it (oops), so I’ve been doing my best to get my $14.99 money’s worth for the month! These are my favorite documentaries I’ve watched so far. I linked the trailer’s for each of these considering the HBO Now links may not work if you don’t have an account. So if you do have HBO Now and want to watch these, just use the search bar.

Beware the Slenderman
This is so eerie! I won’t give too much away, but I will warn you that it’s a little spooky and it details a true crime case where two 11-ish years olds stab one of their friends to death to please a character they believe exists called Slenderman.

There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane
To my surprise, I hadn’t heard of this incident. Seemingly out of nowhere, a mother of two young children drove the wrong way on the highway, killing herself, her two children and three nieces that were in the car with her, as well as three additional passengers in the car she collided with. The toxicology report shows she was both drunk and high at the time, but her husband swears that isn’t possible. The documentary goes over a few theories, so give it a watch and let me know what you believe!

The Cheshire Murders
You guys, this one is unbelievably tragic. This family of four’s house was invaded by two burglars, where the crime quickly escalated to the mother and two daughters being brutally murdered with the husband being the sole survivor. The scariest part of this is that the attack was completely random and the killers had no connection to the family. It’s so terrifying to think that this could happen to any of us on a seemingly normal day.

The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley
This is super interesting and a nice alternative if you’re not into murder shows! This further proves that faking it until you make it works in our society (yikes) and not everyone is as honest as we’d like to believe they are. Also, this woman frightens me for some reason.

Music
As you can tell by the title of this playlist, I’ve ventured back to old music from the deep depths of my iTunes days and I’ve rediscovered so many gems! 😂 It’s so weird how you can somehow still remember all the lyrics to songs you haven’t listened to in YEARS! Give it a play to travel back in time a bit.

Fusion Juicer
I’ll be doing an entire post on this juicer and juicing in general soon, but I can’t express enough how much Justin and I are loving this thing. How cool is it that we can wake up and make fresh-squeezed orange juice in seconds in the morning? It’s so fun to try out different recipes, figure out which fruits and veggies taste good together, etc. So if you’ve ever thought about buying a juicer, do it! Like I said, more to come on this.

Family & Health
I know I don’t usually include this type of thing in my Favorites posts, but after a health scare with one of my family members this week, it’s been at the top of my mind. Appreciate every moment you have with the ones you love and always remember to express to them how much they mean to you. Don’t take time for granted. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, focusing on work and other things that don’t matter nearly as much. Events like this really put things into perspective and make everyday stresses like staining your favorite shirt or scratching your car seem so silly and insignificant. Treat yourself and those around you with care, and learn to appreciate the boring and regular days, because those are the days everything within your life and those connected to you is going how it should. Things can change in an instant, so always remember to check on those around you — as well as yourself.

__________

That’s all for today. Justin and I are off to get our taxes done in the morning, and after this week from hell, I’m looking forward to vegetating and de-stressing for the rest of the night. Also, all of the clothes I ordered this week (refer to my last blog post to see what they are) came in and I love EVERY SINGLE THING! I’ll be sharing on my Instagram story soon — it got pushed back a bit after this week’s events. Anyway, have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading!

    1. Thanks so much, Shirley! YES, juicers are so amazing and you need to try one out for yourself at least once! It’s great when you’re on the go and don’t always make time to prepare fruits and veggies for your meals. Juicers do all the work for you AND it tastes good! 🙌🏻
