Budget-Friendly Christmas Shopping at Gordmans

Budget-Friendly Christmas Shopping at Gordmans

I’m cheesin’ H A R D right now because I finally started Christmas shopping! So many people have been telling me they’re almost done and my guilty conscience was eating me alive. 🙃 I’ve teamed up with Gordmans again this holiday season to share all of my favorite gifting ideas that are budget friendly, making your Christmas shopping completely painless and so much fun!

Really quickly, I wanted to mention I was so happy when I found out a new Gordmans location went up in Greensburg, my hometown (well, technically Westport which is 15 minutes from there, but you get the picture)! It’s such a small town without a lot of chain stores, so this is a win for me. I went to this location this time because it’s only 40 minutes from my husband and I’s house, and that means we’ll be able to make trips more easily and frequently.

WHY I GIVE GIFTS

Along with quality time, I like to participate in gift giving every Christmas for an opportunity to express how much I love and appreciate those close to me in my life. I strive to be grateful year round, but the holiday season is when a lot of us are feeling it the most. You don’t have to spend a lot of money (or any money at all, for that matter) to show someone you’re thinking of them. Personally, I love simple, yet thoughtful gifts that I know they’ll not only appreciate, but will see further value in then what’s on the price tag and will get use genuine use or happiness out of.

As much as I love gift giving, it can be overwhelming. I struggle with getting people gifts when I 1) overthink it and 2) stress about spending too much money. Worrying about exceeding your budget sucks all the joy out of gift giving, and I’ve found the best way to dodge those emotions is to plan ahead and shop at budget-friendly stores. Knowing that most items in the store are within your budget makes the whole experience that much more fun! It makes shopping experience feel like Disneyland!

WHY I SHOP AT GORDMANS

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Gordmans (I hadn’t started shopping there until last year, and I’m so glad I did!), it’s an off-price retailer, meaning they buy excess inventory from department stores and sell it at greatly reduced prices. So basically, you’re getting the exact same product you’d buy at a standard department store, but way cheaper!

I found so many great gift ideas at Gordmans, from beauty products to shoes, home decor, holiday momentos, winter coats, toys and so much more! Whether you’re shopping for your grandma, making a gift basket for your boss or hunting for the perfect holiday party outfit, you’re bound to find something you like. As you’ll see in this post, they carry such a wide variety in designer and name brands, from Puma and Gucci to Nike and Vans.

WHAT I BOUGHT

Puma sneakers for my husband, Justin (regularly priced at $70, marked down to $45.99) — He’s pretty much always found wearing tennis shoes, so he has a new pair on his Christmas list every year. These one are different than anything he’s ever had, but are still the neutral low-key vibe he likes. As a girl who wears an 11, I was so impressed by how many different shoe sizes they had, from a men’s 6.5 all the way up to a 13! If you or someone you know has trouble finding shoes in their size, definitely check out Gordmans selection.

Feline Frenzy Scratch Pad for my brother, Logan… or more-so his cat, Daphne 😂 (regularly priced at $9.99, marked down to $4.99) — My brother is the last person on the planet that you’d ever expect to own a cat, so the fact that he now has one (long story) and loves her more than anything is so funny to me. I thought he’d get a kick out of this and with it only being about $5, I couldn’t pass it up!

Candle (regularly priced at $20, marked down to $9.99) — This candle looks straight out of Anthropolgie, but for the fraction of the price! It has a fresh lavender scent, which is always so calming and one of my favorites at nighttime. They had several options in store in different colors (including blue and orange), but this one was my favorite of the bunch. Candles make great gifts because it’s something everyone gets use out of, so you know it’s something that won’t collect dust and never be touched again. Ones in pretty jars like this one make great home decor pieces as well.

Gucci Bamboo perfume (regularly priced at $72, marked down to $39.99) — I’m not exaggerating when I say Gordmans has one of the weirdest selections of body sprays and perfumes that I’ve EVER SEEN. I’m talking hundreds off bottles. I received this perfume at full price for Christmas last year, and I managed to snag it for only $40 at Gordmans. Unreal. Perfumes/colognes make great gifts and are often something a lot of people put on their Christmas lists because it’s not always something you like to by for yourself, but everyone wants!

Scarf (only $4.99) — I got this cute, soft blanket scarf for a family member I won’t disclose since she may be reading this! Blanket scarves are the best because they’re giant and can be styled in so many ways, keeping you warm and giving you so many different looks to choose from all winter long. If you live somewhere cold, you can’t go wrong with a gift like this! You can tack on to it by getting a matching hat and gloves too to complete the gift.

Dartboard Set for Justin (only $12.98) — I got this for Justin’s classroom (he’s a high school math teacher) because he’s always looking for new things like this that he can incorporate into games with his classes. He got a toy dart-like bow and arrow set from Kroger a year or two ago that all the kids loved for review games, but it has sense broke and he’s been due for a replacement. This one will be perfect! Games like this are an unexpected gift, but are so fun for family events, game nights, etc.

That’s everything I picked up on the Gordmans trip! I could have kept shopping, but I had to cut myself off somewhere. 😉 If you haven’t been to a Gordmans, definitely consider stopping by while shopping for all of your gifts this year. Their deals are the best and they truly have something for everyone on your list!
