Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration: Dreamy Sunset

Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration: Dreamy Sunset

I’m so excited to be designing another nursery, this time for our second daughter! For me, preparing the nursery is a huge part of the pregnancy process, allowing me to nest and feel prepared mentally for our baby to arrive, especially as a Type-A person. I find it incredibly calming and such a fun creative expression, and designing Clay’s nursery was one of my favorite things I did during my last pregnancy.

I wasn’t sure how we were going to approach this at first, since we currently have 3 “occupied” bedrooms (1. our bedroom, 2. Clay’s and 3. a guest room/office), but I think our plan is to temporarily make our third bedroom a nursery/office since it’s a long room with space for both. Though she likely won’t be sleeping in there full time until around September or so, it’s nice to have a space to put all of her clothes and get things organized for her arrival.

As for choosing the vibe for the room, I did some serious brainstorming. I recommend starting on Pinterest! I felt like I had already designed my dream girl nursery for Clay, so I had to come up with a different concept. I wanted it to be cozy, refreshing, airy and feminine, utilizing pieces that can easily grow with her as she gets older (AKA nothing overly “baby,” specifically for the bigger items). I ended up falling in love with the idea of a dreamy sunset theme, featuring warm tones of pink, peach and lavender, pretty skies, clouds and tons of soft textures. Think Summer Fridays branding, floating on a fluffy cloud at sunset.

We have some things we can reuse from Clay, but here are the items we need to buy:

Here are some of my favorite items I’ve found (definitely scour Etsy and Amazon!):

I’m excited to get started and to see it all come together! I’ll share updates here and on my Instagram throughout if you’d like to follow along. Thanks for reading!
