Peach Bohemian Master Bedroom Makeover
And just like that, our master bedroom has a new look! I’m obsessed! If you keep up with me and my blog, you know I made the decision to spruce up our bedroom a couple weeks ago (we’ve had the same bedroom decor since we moved into our first apartment three years ago) and with the purchase of just a few items, it truly feels like our room has transformed for the better. Keep reading for details on our warm, peachy, bohemian master bedroom makeover, how I picked everything out + tips on how to spruce up your space!
If you haven’t seen it, check out my Master Bedroom Inspiration blog post where I brainstormed what I wanted to do with our space.
Pillows
Pillows are one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to pull your room’s vibe and color scheme together. When I decided to transition our room’s color scheme from blush, blue and neutrals to more of a peachy warm vibe, I began by searching for the perfect pillows. I came across 3/4 of these while out shopping at World Market one day and ended up going home without them and ordering them online (+ another one I thought would be a good match) just a week or so later. When you know, you know! 😉 But for real, I couldn’t be happier with the quality of these and how perfectly they flow with each other, along with our old decor and new additions.
Print
When brainstorming how I wanted to change up this room, I wanted to search for a print that was calming and serene. Originally I thought I wanted an overhead water shot, but with the size we needed the print to be to fill the space above our bed, that limited the options on Society6 since very few offer printing at that size. We ended up deciding on this beautiful Santorini sunset image from the same artist all my other Society6 prints are from and I love it! It ties in the warmer tones that I wanted to incorporate to balance out the blue headboard.
- Santorini Sunsets Art Print by Roost Fine Art (size x-large 40″ X 28″)
- 28 x 40 Contemporary White Wood Picture Frame by Poster Palooza
Tip: When you receive your print from Society6, lay it on a flat surface with books or something on top to help smooth it out. I recommend leaving for about 24 hours, or more if it needs it!
Rug
I found this rug online and crossed my fingers hoping I’d love it just as much in person — and I DO! After only unrolling it a fraction of the way, I told Justin that if I designed a rug myself, it would be exactly this. This may sound silly, but I really feel like rugs set the whole scene for your room and having a space that feels like YOU is so comforting and empowering. This rug incorporates the prettiest tones I was striving for: peachy pinks, light green, a hint of dusty blue to tie in our headboard, etc.
There are a few additional things I’d like to get or switch out in the future to complete the room:
- New dressers — we’ve been using mine and my brother’s from when we were kids. I spruced them up a few years ago with a fresh coat of white paint and some boho mismatch knobs, but I’d like to get some light wood ones that are shorter and horizontal.
- Fake floor plants — just one or two more that are larger than the one we have in there now.
- More wall decor — prints, maybe wedding photos, additional wall hangings, etc.
In case you’re interested, here’s where some of the other items in these photos are from that aren’t recent purchases:
- Headboard: TJ Maxx
- Bedding: Urban Outfitters (it’s called the Magical Thinking Net Tassel Duvet Cover, but it’s currently sold out)
- Nightstands: Target
- Lamps: TJ Maxx
- Pouf: Amazon
