What to Wear in Spring 2018
Welcome back to the blog & I hope you’ve had a great week! Though spring isn’t my favorite season, I LOVE incorporating spring fashion into my life after six months of cold and parkas here in Indiana. As I do for each season, today’s post is on the latest trends and what to wear in spring 2018. So if you’re not knowing what to buy or how to style yourself this season, this post is for you!
POLKA DOTS
I’m so excited to be seeing polka dots everywhere this season! It’s such a great pattern that’s feminine and super easy to mix and match with other patterns, so it’s incredibly versatile. I’ve linked some of my favorite pieces below, each of which would be great to pair with layered dainty jewelry, a silk scarf, denim and a straw bag for sunny days. The red wrap top, green wrap dress and black wrap dress below are on my wardrobe wishlist right now!
TWO-PIECE SETS
It doesn’t get easier than this, people! A top and a skirt that go together perfectly and make you look like you tried way harder than you actually did is a trend I stand by. Work smarter, not harder. Though I don’t own any two-piece sets yet, I’m really into them. I’ve linked several at varying prices below.
LOAFERS
This is a trend I’m so here for because I love being able to quickly slip on a simple pair shoes and run out the door — plus these guys are so comfortable! Loafers are a great alternative to sandals when you want to mix up your look or wear something closed-toe if it’s been a minute since your last pedicure. My favorite pairs are from Franco Sarto, but Steve Madden and Target have some great options too. I’d say the trendiest ones right now include bows, tassels and white leather for an extra pop of detail.
WRAP DRESSES/TOPS
If I had to pick one favorite trend this season, it would have to be wrap dresses and tops. I find the silhouette to be really flattering on all body types and I love how simple and lightweight they are for hot days, whether your plans are casual, business or something more formal. These are great to wear to spring weddings and events, and you can mix up the vibe with prints and solids.
SILK SCARVES
I purchased a silk scarf last summer and it’s become one of my favorite accessories! Depending on the size, these babies can be styled in your hair, around your neck, as a belt or as an accessory on your bag. This is a fun way to add a little something extra to your look if you’re feeling a little drab or feel that you’ve worn that particular outfit as is too many times. I got my red one you’ve probably seen me wear on my Instagram from Forever 21, but I linked some other pretty ones below.
PATTERNED PANTS
If you’re starting to feel tired of wearing plain/boring jeans like me, this trend is a saving grace. I think trousers as well as colored and patterned pants are so fun and springy, so I’m hoping to add a few more to my closet within the coming months. These are really cute paired with button-down tops, blouses and silky tanks!
To wrap up this post, some trends that have carried over from spring/summer 2017 include straw bags, midi skirts, gingham and bell/flowy-sleeve tops to name a few — all of which I love!

SAME! I don’t have any two-piece sets in my closet yet, but I’m on the hunt!
