What to Wear in Fall 2018

As a huge fashion lover, seeing what trends arise every season is one of my favorite parts of the industry. From New York Fashion Week to large retailers and local boutiques, today’s post in my fashion trend series includes all of the season’s emerging trends for those of you wondering what to buy and what to wear in Fall 2018.

ANIMAL PRINT

Cheetah/leopard print is a favorite of mine, so I’m HYPED to be seeing this everywhere this season. It’s the perfect print to incorporate into any outfit to instantly make it look more fashion forward, which is so cool to me. Don’t be afraid of mixing patterns with it either — one of my favorite combos is a graphic tee, jeans (black or standard denim) and a pair of leopard print shoes with a fun bag. It gives your look so much more personality, so I recommend adding something in this print to your closet!

CORDUROY

I love texture, so I’m excited about the corduroy trend as well. Whether it’s in a jacket, pants, bag or a pair of shoes, adding it to your outfit gives your whole look a bit more uniqueness and flair. I used to wear corduroy a lot as a kid, and I think it’s kind of fun that it’s making a comeback. I’d like to add a good skirt and jacket in this fabric to my closet!

PINSTRIPES

This is a trend I didn’t see coming until about a month ago, but I’m living for it. I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair of jeans with pinstripe detailing on the sides to wear with tees and sweaters. Jeans can get boring when you wear them all the time (guilty!), so a pair with striping would be the perfect way to mix it up. You can also try out the trend with a pinstripe bag or jacket.

PLAID

Plaid seems to always been in for fall and winter, and that’s the case this year too. Whether it’s in the form of pants, a skirt, top, boots or a bag, adding a little plaid to your wardrobe is the perfect way to be festive for the season. Personally, I’m a HUGE fan of pairing plaid plants with a graphic tee and a denim or leather jacket on top — it’s the perfect look for a chilly day!

GREEN

You may or may not agree with me on this one, but I’m anticipating seeing green (as well as camo!) everywhere this season. A lot of the shades I’ve been seeing fall into the richer emerald shade, which I really love. I think it’s a really great pop of color for fall if you’re usually one to stick to neutrals since it’s not an in-your-face hue.
