Wedding Dress Try On at Beloved Brides
Hi everyone! I was invited by the lovely team at Beloved Brides to visit their shop and get the full bridal experience last weekend. Though you all know I’m already married and had my dream wedding last summer (can I relive it, please?), I was so happy to be presented with the opportunity to share a wedding dress boutique with you guys that carries such a wide variety of dresses at the most amazing prices here in the Indy. Keep reading for my full review of the shop, the various styles they carry, my thoughts on the dresses I tried on + details on a HUGE bridal giveaway they’re doing that you won’t want to miss out on!
I’m about to bust a myth for you right now — I know we all watch a lot of Say Yes to the Dress, but you absolutely DO NOT need to or have to spend thousands of dollars to have a nice dress like you always see on TV. Not even in the slightest, you guys. Beloved Brides was described to me as the TJ MAXX of wedding dresses, and you already know how much that excites me. Why pay full price for a dress if you don’t have to?
I ventured into the depths of lace, tulle and satin at Fisher’s Beloved Brides to see what Indianapolis has to offer in the bridal gown department. You’re going to see I tried on one dress of each popular style including long sleeve, ballgown, fit-and-flare and even a Meghan Markle vibes one with the goal to represent all styles so each of you could see something you’d like. Before we get into all the pretty dresses, let’s talk a little bit more about the boutique.
WHY SHOP AT BELOVED BRIDES?
Beloved Brides has over 400 gowns in store, carrying sizes 4-20 with a price to fit every bride’s budget. These dresses are “off-the-rack,” meaning you don’t have to wait for them to come in the mail (woo hoo!) and you can take your dress home the same day. They also offer in-house alternations beginning three months before your wedding day, so no need to search for a seamstress. You can schedule an appointment online and it’s super quick & simple!
Some of the designers they carry include Maggie Sottero, Casablanca, Allure, Stella York, Justin Alexander, Moonlight, Lillian West, Sweetheart Bridal, House of Wu, Private Collection and many more. They have just about every accessory you can imagine in store too, so if you want to try out variety of items (veils, belts, jewelry, clips, etc.), you totally can. Their staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, making the entire shopping experience stress free and truly FUN!
Here are the dresses I tried on!
Designer: Martina Liana
I really loved this one! There’s something so elegant and classic about long sleeve dresses, and the satin bottom with buttons all the way down the back was so gorgeous to me. The open lace front prevented the dress from feeling too boxy and closed off, which I really loved since I’d had an issue with long sleeve dresses in the past feeling too covered up. Since I got married outdoors in June, a long sleeve dress was completely unrealistic for me, so I’m glad I got the opportunity to try one on again. It’s really comfortable too!
Designer: Sweetheart Bridal
Can you say Meghan Markle?! This is such a classic, timeless dress that I truly think would look beautiful on all body types of all ages. I picture a high bun with this one and it somehow reminds me of the wedding gown from The Parent Trap too. The material is gorgeous and the train is such a statement. These images don’t even begin to do these dresses justice — they’re all so breathtaking!

The overall fit of this one reminds me of my own wedding dress, so no surprise here that I loved this one too! I’m a tulle girl because I love how flowy and delicate it is, and this gown executes that so beautifully. It also cinches in your waist to create the most flattering silhouette. Fun fact — I think this may have been my first time trying on a veil, too! Mom, if you’re reading this and I tried yours & forgot, so sorry.
Designer: Sweetheart Bridal
Never did I ever think I’d be in a white ballgown, but here I am & I’m soooo not mad about it! I knew ballgowns weren’t my vibe when I went shopping for my own dress, so I didn’t bother trying any on. When I found out I was going to be doing this collaboration, my first thought was “I want to see what I look like in a ballgown!” If you’re going for the princess, royalty look, this gorgeous gown is right up your alley. I can honestly say that if I were to have gotten a ballgown, it very likely would have been this one. I love the low back and tiered train — it’s a stunner for sure!
Designer: Essence of Australia
I had to save the best for last — I think this one was my favorite! Though it’s a close tie with the long sleeve one for me, this one takes the cake. Again, I think this is another one that is so timeless, and the detail on it is to die for. It’s so romantic and could easily be styled modernly or more on the vintage side, and it’s the perfect gown for showing off your figure.
THE GIVEAWAY
As promised, the super fun, HUGE giveaway they’re doing is called the #BestDayEver Wedding Day Giveaway where one lucky couple will win their dream wedding! That’s right, it’s free… no joke. You can learn more about the giveaway and keep up with it on their Facebook and Instagram as more details are revealed. I wish this was a thing when I got married last year because I would have been so on top of this! I never win anything, but it wouldn’t have hurt to try. 😂
