Superga Sneakers Review: Are They Worth The Money?

If you’ve thought about buying Supergas or are looking for another pair of sneakers to add to your closet, this post is for you! As a first-time Superga buyer and wearer, I’m giving you guys my full review of the quality, fit, comfort, price and style selection to answer any Q’s that may be holding you back from buying your first pair.

Before purchasing these, my go-to pair of sneakers were white and gold Adidas Superstars. They’re super comfy and we’re super in a couple years ago, and though I still absolutely love them, I was ready to upgrade to something new to throw in the mix. Now, here’s what I thought of them once they arrived in the mail.

PRICE

For me at least, these are more expensive than your average sneaker. I don’t typically spend more than $50 on a pair of shoes, but when it comes to investing in a more expensive pair that are practical and will get worn a ton, I’m much more willing to splurge occasionally. These typically run for around $100, especially if you get the platform style like I did. For reference, Adidas Superstars (as I mentioned previously) are typically around $60-80, so most Supergas sit at a slightly higher price.

FIT & SIZE

Ah, this is what always makes me nervous about ordering from shoe brands online that I’ve never tried on. I can confirm that these do run big. I had read that when I looked up reviews myself, and as someone who usually wears a 10.5–11, I crossed my fingers that the 10s I ordered would fit (that was the biggest size available in the style I wanted). They ended up being the perfect size! With that being said, I recommend going a full size down — that’s what worked for me at least! My feet aren’t particularly wide or narrow, but sometimes shoes can be a little tight for me at the widest part of my foot (I’m sure that’s due to having size 11s as a girl, lol), but those are the case for these. They fit perfect with room to spare so there isn’t any tightness!

STYLE SELECTION

They have so many cute styles to choose from, but since I was seeking a pair for “everyday” wear, I went with the gold embroidered insect print on a platform white canvas sneaker. These seriously look like a million bucks on! The platform style makes them really pop and they serve as a focal point for a lot of my outfits, yet they’re neutral enough to match literally anything in my closet. The insects make them stand out in comparison to your average white sneaker and the platform makes them trendy and eyecatching. I’m absolutely DYING to get my hands on the dalmatian print ones next!

QUALITY

These feel like pretty good quality to me. There’s not much to say about this because I think we can all agree that we know when shoes are good quality or not, and these didn’t disappoint me. They’re sturdy while still being flexible and they’re not too heavy, especially with the platform.

COMFORT

I can see why you may have to break these in a bit. I’d read that some people say the leather ones can rub at your heels, so I decided to go for a canvas pair to try to avoid that. These were never uncomfortable to the point that I wanted to take them off or anything whatsoever, but they have gotten more and more comfortable as I wear them and I’ve been able to wear them all day without issues since day 1. I typically tie them a bit tighter to keep my heels from popping up out of the backs of them while I walk. That could be due to the socks I wear as well, but it’s a super easy fix.
