September 2018 Playlist
Hi everyone! After hearing the music I share on my Instagram stories, per your request, I’m sharing my go-to playlist filled with all of my current favorite songs. Good music is such a mood booster for me and helps me accomplish whatever tasks I have at hand, whether it’s driving to my next destination, cleaning my apartment or getting some work done. Keep on scrolling for my best music recommendations that I know you’ll be embarrassingly singing and dancing along to in your car like I do (yikes).
If the player below cuts you off and doesn’t let you listen to the whole song, open the playlist on Spotify here. Also, feel free to follow me on there to stay up to date on my playlists as they’re created, before I share them on my blog!
Single — The Neighbourhood
My history with The Neighbourhood is long. I discovered them on Spotify before Sweater Weather blew up back in 2013 and have been hooked ever since. I saw them open for Imagine Dragons and they were so amazing live. The best way I can describe their music is angsty, coastal rock. Everything about this song is amazing — the sound, the lyrics, all of it. I want to dance every time it drops, especially at the 2:10 mark. The best.
Only Love (Acoustic) — Pvris
This came up as a recommended song on Spotify while listening to the first few songs I put on this playlist and I was instantly drawn in. Her voice is so reminiscent of Evanescence for me with it’s slightly haunting sound and overall singing style. It’s so pretty and passionate.
Silhouette — Aquilo
Again, delicate, beautiful and so passionate. I love any song that has audible emotion in it, and this is one of them. This is another fun one to learn the words to and belt out in the car.
Feel Something — Jaymes Young
I discovered Jaymes Young through his song Moondust a few years back. If you like The Neighbourhood, you’re going to love him too. This one is so catchy and a song I think everyone will like!
Nervous — The Neighbourhood
Gotta throw it back to The Neighbourhood again because I love them so much. Nervous is one everyone can probably relate to, whether it’s in present day or in the past. Such great lyrics!
Supernova — Ansel Elgort
Okay you guys, I think I have a new crush… 😆 I was shook the first time I heard this when I found out the actor Ansel Elgort (Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, etc.) sang it — literally, I was like “WHATTTT?!?!? Um, excuse me?!” I don’t even know what genre I would classify this song as but I’m INTO IT. Yes, yes, yes. Also, if any of you know the meaning behind this video, please explain it to me because I’m lost.
Fall — Eminem
If you haven’t been on Twitter (AKA the very reliable source where I get all of my news from 😉), Eminem dropped a new surprise album and it’s good. Like many of you I’m sure, I’ve been listening to him since I was a kid and have liked everything he’s come out with. This is my favorite song from the album so far and I love the beat to it. It’s still classic Eminem with the quick lyrics and name drops (more like drags if we’re being honest here), but still a little different at the same time.
Maybe We’re Meant to be Alone — Bad Suns
Here’s a chill vibe for you. It’s kinda beachy and relaxing, and a great background song to anything you’re doing.
Roxanne — Chase Atlantic
This is serving me some pop punk vibes from 2009 and I’m loving it! I’m getting a flashback of myself wearing skinny jeans when they gained popularity back then, black nail polish, converse and a Paramore shirt.
The Beach — The Neighbourhood
This one has migrated from playlist to playlist for me because it’s just so good.
Lucky You (ft. Joyner Lucas) — Eminem
This is my second favorite song from Eminem’s new album so far. Give it a listen.
Play Me Like a Violin — Stephen
I feel like 50% of you are for sure going to hate this song when you hear it. It’s different and I didn’t know what to think the first time I heard it, but I’ve found myself replaying it! You’ll know what I mean when you listen to it.
That’s all for this playlist! If you enjoy these posts and would like me to keep doing them, let me know. Thanks so much for reading (and listening, of course) and have an amazing week! I’ll see you in Wednesday’s post!
