Life Update: March 2019

Life Update: March 2019

Hey guys! After a tiring week, I wanted to sit down and chat with you today about life and what I’ve been up to. Since my last update, keep reading for details on life lately at the Armbruster household while I chow down on some Friday night pizza! 🤣

I know I say this all the time, but time really does fly by and I can’t believe March (and soon, spring!) is here. I feel like I just tore the January page off my calendar, and now here we are. Despite that, life really does slow down a bit after you get married and buy a house timeline-wise. Those were two bigs things we were looking forward to or wanted to accomplish, so now that they’re crossed off, there’s this kind of “what next?” feeling — but in a good way, you know?

It’s been a pretty hectic & busy week work-wise. I’ve been keeping extra busy with freelance work on top of blogging and my full-time job as well, so I’m just now finding time to sit down and write this post this Friday night! As for upcoming changes, Justin’s swim season is wrapping up and I’m looking forward to coming home to him at the end of the workday more frequently in a couple of weeks. I love that he coaches since it’s something he’s so passionate about, but I also love that it makes me appreciate coming home to him when he is there that much more. It’s the little things! I’m also excited to start spending more time outside and going for walks in our neighborhood once the weather starts to warm up.

As for house updates, our next projects are setting up our remaining light fixtures (specifically our living room one this weekend), installing our cabinet hardware and replacing all of our interior doors with new mission-style ones. I honestly find all of these things to be so fun! Owning a house is a dream that took us longer to reach than we anticipated (read all about our house hunting journey here), but it truly is everything and more than I thought it would be. I just love it here so much and we’re so happy. It feels like home and a creative outlet all in one, and I can’t wait to continue to make more memories here. Oh, and having a house in the summertime is something I’m so excited to experience!

Health-wise, my migraines have been frustrating lately. I’ve accepted that they’re always going to be part of my life, but it’s incredibly frustrating each and every time they cause me to miss out on prior commitments and force me to cancel plans. Without realizing it, I kind of feel like they’ve molded me into a person who is hesitant to plan things in advance because it’s impossible to determine how I’ll feel until the time comes, and I hate that. I’m sure those of you in the same boat understand! I’d love to see the day that I no longer have to take medication, but I may have to keep dreaming for that one. 😅

You may know that BIG news was released in the Chris Watts case, a case that has completely sucked me in for the last few months (read my posts on it here). Basically, he was re-interviewed last week by the team that interrogated him and he gave details on what happened and why he did it, which is something we’ve all been in the dark about since the crime was committed six months ago. The audio file and transcript will be released on March 7th, and I’m so anxious to hear it. I hope he was truthful and gave answers that the family deserves to know. I’m not kidding… I’m counting down the days.

Another random thing, the Jonas Brothers are back?! This is so fun to me! I was a big fan, especially in middle school, and had a huge crush on Nick. I had his posters all over my room and I always joke that I’m so glad I was already married when he got married, otherwise I would have been devastated. 😉 What do you guys think of their new song, “Sucker?” I like it and I think it’s so cool that they included their wives/fiancées in the music video! Their relationship makes me incredibly jealous that I don’t have sisters so us and our husbands can all be BFFs and family all in one like them! 😂

Last but not least, I love this picture of Justin and I that we took last weekend and it has reminded me that we simply don’t take enough pictures together. We’re always capturing stuff for my blog and Instagram, but I’m making it a priority to take more pictures of us in our everyday life. Before we start a family, I really want to remember these times of just him and I, what we did and capture it to share with our kids one day.

That’s all for now! I hope you guys had a great week and if yours was anything like mine, I hope you have a restful weekend so you can recharge. Thanks so much for catching up with me! Love you guys!
