Friday Favorites

Hey everyone! I genuinely can’t believe it’s already Friday again! This week flew by and I’m excited to be spending the weekend with family for Easter, AKA the holiday with THE BEST candy ever! 😘 I wanted to sit down with you guys and catch up while sharing some things I’ve been loving over the past couple weeks, from homeware and accessories to entertainment if you’re looking for something to watch tonight!

Updated Blog Header
In case you haven’t noticed, I updated the header on my website with new images for spring! As a designer, things like this are so fun for me and with May right around the corner, I figured it was time to remove the winter images for a new look. I feel like all of these images really encompass me and what I’m all about, so I’m super happy with it!

Wooden Bead Tassels
I’ve been wanting some of these to hang on our door knobs for a while, but I hadn’t stumbled upon any until Justin and I were out mirror shopping this weekend (no, we didn’t find a mirror for our living room yet — the hunt continues!). They add such a fun little detail to our entry doors and I seriously can’t get over them! Kirkland’s had these marked as $14.99, but they were cheaper in-store with the coupon on the homepage of their website. If you decide to go get these too, be sure to check there or ask the sales associate about it so you can save some money! I just checked their website and I can’t find these exact ones online, but Amazon has a ton if you don’t have a Kirkland’s near you.

 

“The Sentence” Documentary on HBO Now
Guys, I bawled my eyes out over this. I don’t want to give too much of it away, so watch this trailer to get a feel for the story. My heart ached for these little girls and it’s so sad to think that so many families go through this — and worst of all, the innocent children are the ones who lose the most. Watching this made me feel so insanely grateful that I got to grow up in a home with two parents present and not caught up in the prison system. Though the story is sad, it’s eye-opening and I really recommend it!

 

Truth & Lies: The Menendez Brothers Documentary
It’s wouldn’t be a favorites post of mine without some true crime. I watched this one this week and I’m dying to hear your thoughts on the case, mostly if you think there was abuse in the home. I keep going back and forth with my initial thought being no way, but the testimonies seemed so raw and believable to me that I don’t know what to think. Leave a comment with your thoughts! I’m sorry that the quality isn’t the best on this video, but it’s free, so I guess we can’t complain (lol).

 

Where is Timmothy Pitzen? 
If you’ve been watching the news, you may know this case came back to the surface last week after a boy (who ended up being a full grown man) came forward claiming to be the missing child, Timmothy Pitzen, stating he’d escaped from his captors. It turns out the guy was a total fraud, but I guess the positive thing about this is that it’s brought the case back to light. This video will catch you up to speed — do you think he’s still alive?

Rebecca Minkoff Charging Tassel Keychain
If you’ve been following me within the last year or so, you may know I purchased the Rebecca Minkoff Always on MAB Backpack to use as my daily work bag. I absolutely love it and it came with a charging tassel keychain, which I’d removed from my bag since it would jingle and make tons of noise while I walked, which annoyed me too much in an office building. For some reason, it just dawned on me this week that I could use on my car keychain and I’m OBSESSED.

My Sweet Husband
If we’re being real here, life has been a little testy with me lately. Whether it’s a bunch of little things going on (definitely thought I was going to have to send my 1-year-old Macbook off to get fixed this week & every form of income I have is made through that computer… yikes. Everything seems okay now though!) or some heavier things, he’s really been my rock and I feel like I can never thank him enough for that. He surprised me with flowers and chocolate cake after work one day this week and it really made me smile. I joke about this all the time, but I hope he loves me like this forever, even when I’m psychotically stressed out. 😉
