Friday Favorites
Welcome back to the blog! I’m celebrating the weekend with a new Friday Favorites post sharing everything I’ve been loving lately (and may be obsessed with) and recommend you guys check out. Keep reading for my Netflix series, music and style faves of the moment!
SERIES + DOCUMENTARIES
I haven’t stopped talking about this Netflix original since I binged the series last week, and let me tell you, it is sooooo good, you guys! I tell every single person I see to watch it because I think it’s universal and something everyone would like, regardless if you’re into crime shows or not. I’d say this is a mystery with just enough drama. This show stars Michael C. Hall who plays Dexter Morgan in Dexter, so that’s what brought Justin and I to the series. It’s set in the UK so it’s so weird hearing him with an accent, but you get used to it. The show keeps you guessing and with it only having 8 episodes, it almost feels like a movie. It’s definitely binge-worthy and it has the craziest twists. The end legitimately left me SHOOK and I’m crossing my fingers there’s a second season. This is a must watch!

MUSIC
I don’t share music on my blog too often, but I couldn’t not include this song since it’s been on repeat at our place. This is the theme song for Safe (I told you we were obsessed) and we loved it the second we heard it.
I’m so late to this train, but MAN does this song make me wish I could sing! It’s seriously so beautiful and I love Billie’s voice (also, yes it’s in season 2 of 13 Reasons Why) — so angelic and almost eery at times, and don’t even get me started on the fact that she’s only 16. She’s also such a juxtaposition for me because you would in no way guess what her singing voice is like based on her style/vibe. For those of you who were dancers growing up (I did ballet for seven years), do you interpret all songs into dances in your head without even thinking about it?! I wouldn’t call it choreographing, but more so unintentionally interpreting all lyrical songs like this visually since that’s how I was taught to listen to it. Tell me I’m not alone!

STYLE
Graphic tees
I’ve already done an entire post on these, but graphic tees are pretty much all I want to wear right now just because they’re so comfortable and easy to style. They’re one of the few wardrobe pieces that look good with everything and make picking out an outfit and getting dressed in the morning so easy. If you keep up with me on the ‘gram, you know I scored the best 2 for $20 deal at Kohl’s last weekend. Band tees are almost never discounted, so I was over the moon!
