Polène Paris N°1 Bag Review

Hi friends! After seeing the Polène Paris N°1 bag all over Instagram and developing some MAJOR lust for it, I pulled the trigger and bought it! Because this bag is an investment, I did my research on it before I made the purchase, which you may be doing too right now. Since I consider myself a little frugal and intentional with my spending, I wanted to do a full review post sharing if I think the bag is worth the money, including my thoughts on the quality, packaging, color selection and overall wearability.

PRICE & PACKAGING

Before purchasing, I had read this bag described as a more budget-friendly high-end price in comparison to brands like Chanel, YSL, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. In the grand scheme of designer bags, I do agree that it lies in the lower price range. Polène’s bags range from $230–420, at the style I got it was $420. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a lot of money to spend on a bag, but it’s far less expensive than a majority of designer purses that run $1,000+. It comes in a really nice box (and dust bag!) that you can store the bag in or use as decor if you wanted to. It comes nicely wrapped as well in bubble wrap and tissue paper, sealed with a sticker.

SIZE & MATERIAL

Personally, I would consider this bag a medium-sized. I’m used to carrying a bit of a smaller bag, but this one is a great size too. It fits everything I need plus a little more and I could honestly squeeze my camera in it if I wanted to. It has a zipper pocket on the inside where I keep my lip products and hand lotion. In the main compartment, I keep my planner, wallet, small toiletry pouch and my sunglasses. There is a back pocket too where I keep a tissue or two that I can easily access it. This bag is made of real leather, and it looks and feels buttery to the touch. It really looks like a million bucks!

COLOR SELECTION & STYLES

This bag comes in so many cute colors and Polène carries some other cute styles as well. I honestly want one of each and I debated between the peach and the pale green when I was purchasing this one, but obviously I went with peach. There are colors to go with each season, in addition to a variety of neutrals if you’re looking for something that would be a good fit year-round. They also have a cute basket-style one that’s really trendy for spring and summer, in addition to a smaller crossbody one and a hand-loop bag.

QUALITY

The quality is amazing — seriously, I’m so impressed. It looks and feels so high-end and when you’re spending this much money on a bag, that’s exactly what you want and it’s what you’re paying for. There aren’t any loose threads or imperfections and it has such a great structure to it while still being soft. The gold hardware is supreme quality as well and nothing feels fragile or damageable.

WEARABILITY

This bag is ideal for me because it has a couple carrying options, which are two that I look for in every good purse. The first is the crossbody strap, which is great when you need to be hands-free. The second is the top handle, which makes it so easy to grab and go. The peach color seems to go with pretty much everything I own (maybe that’s because it’s one of my favorite colors and I’m biased 😉), which is an added bonus. The bag has a nice weight to it without being too heavy whatsoever and that makes the straps really comfortable for all-day wear.
