One Year of Blogging

MY BLOG TURNS ONE TODAY! Happy Birthday abbysaylor.com! This past year has absolutely flown by and I can’t believe that I’ve been blogging for an entire year already. Blogging is something that I’m genuinely excited to wake up and do everyday and I’m so happy to have found something that’s the perfect fit for me. It’s the best feeling to have an extra element of my life that I’m so passionate about. I’ve always been that girl who struggled to find a hobby and a place that was “me.” I’ve never been one for sports or clubs (not that those matter in life after college, but you know what I mean), so I’m so glad that I bit the bullet a year ago and finally decided to publish my content and commit to it.

I can’t even tell you the number of times I made temporary accounts on random blogging platforms, began designing a layout, and never came back to it. I can definitely say from experience that it’s so important to dive into something you have a strong interest in and give it your full effort. You’ll never know what you’re missing out on unless you give it a shot! There are so many reasons why I love blogging, but in short, it encompasses all of my favorite things: writing, sharing, photography, creating, designing and everything in between. I love making my ideas come to life, sharing things I love, and interacting with others who share my interests.

Though blogging is mostly just a hobby for me right now, I have so many plans, goals and aspirations for the future of my website. Blogging is something I choose to dedicate time to every week, and I think that’s really special. Working full-time and trying to manage a blog full-time isn’t always easy, and I often have to put in extra hours to get good content up on my “side hustle” — but it’s always worth it. My advice to you is if you’re interested in starting a blog and have been thinking about it for some time, DO IT — and that applies to anything in your life. Don’t be afraid to explore the unknown.

In honor of my blog’s one year anniversary, I launched my Facebook page today!
