I Tried 3 Glossier Products & Here's What I Thought of Them

Hey guys! Just like many of you I’m sure, I was quickly drawn to Glossier‘s aesthetically pleasing packaging, cute branding and wide range of unique products I hadn’t tried quite anything like before. For those of you who are curious about their products and are trying to decide if you want to take the plunge and make an order, I’m here to help! I tried 3 Glossier products and here’s what I thought of them.

BOY BROW

This was one of the products I was most excited to try since I’d heard so much about it. I’d seen it used by a lot of girls online who typically don’t fill in their eyebrows (at least not that much) and use Boy Brow instead to add some subtle natural color and tame them into place. This product comes in four shades (clear, blonde, brown and black) and I got the brown one since my brows are pretty dark.

I was a little surprised that it’s not as much of a gel-like consistency as I anticipated. Though it does coat your brow hairs a bit and lays them into place with the brush, you may still need a brow gel to seal them in place if you have crazy ones like me. The color pay off is great and it’s one of the best ways I’ve found to quickly add a little something to your brows if you like the super natural look or are just short on time in the morning. Though the bottle is pretty small, I’ve had it for almost three months now and it’s still going strong!

I’ve incorporated this product into my everyday brow routine and have been really happy with the results. I begin by using the Benefit Precisely My Brow pencil to fill my brows with hair-like stokes (at least to the best of my ability), then use Boy Brow to blend and shape them into place, then I set it all with NYX Control Freak brow gel. Each of these keeps my brows looking fresh all day long & I love it.

BALM DOTCOM

This is definitely the Glossier product I see on social media the most and it’s is what drew me to the brand in the first place. As a huge sweet lover, it was a no-brainer for me to go for the birthday scented one, though I did fight the urge to impulsively buy the rose one (gives a pink tint to your lips) and the coconut one (one of my favorite scents) as well.

The packaging is so cute and it applies really similarly to Carmex, which I’ve been a longtime fan of. It’s moisturizing and light without being sticky, which are definite musts in a good lip balm. I must say I don’t find myself reaching for it as often as I thought I would, and I think that’s because I wear lipstick most days and I’m scared the application of this will smear it. I really do need to give it a try more often though! For me, it’s great on natural lip days or slathering on before bed so my lips don’t dry out overnight. If you’re a fan of Carmex-like balms (without the medicated aspect, of course), you’ll probably like this!

LASH SLICK

I only needed to spend a few more dollars to get free shipping, so I threw the Lash Slick mascara in at the last minute not having heard much about it. To my surprise, this ended up being my favorite product from the bunch! When first using it, I was surprised to see the small amount of product that appeared to be applying to my lashes in comparison to the mascaras I’m used to. I really honestly thought “wait, it’s not really doing anything?!” — but after using it a couple times and warming it up, it’s quickly become one of my all time favorite mascaras. Now a lot of other mascaras feel thick and sticky to me in comparison.

This mascara is definitely designed for separating and lengthening more-so than volume, but it layers so nicely more of a thickened look. I begin by curling my lashes, applying an even coat of Lash Slick on top and bottom, and then use my L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara on the very ends of my lashes to darken/thicken them up a bit and pop more against my eyes. This combo does wonders for my lashes and I’ve been reaching for these products ever since!
