Home Decor Update: Opalhouse TV Stand, Peacock Chair + More

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you all had an amazing Easter weekend with family/friends if you celebrate. It’s time for a new home decor update to share some of our latest purchases for our first house including furniture, light fixtures, pillows and more!

OPALHOUSE TV STAND

I’ve had my eyes on this Opalhouse Minsmere Caned TV Stand (pictured above) from Target for months. I kept putting off buying it for a while (and shouldn’t have because I missed out on a REALLY GOOD sale) and by the time I decided to pull the trigger, it was out of stock. I signed up for restock email notifications a month or so ago, but hadn’t received any updates. I randomly decided to look it up one day out of pure boredom and IT WAS BACK IN STOCK — and on a little bit of a sale! I yelled “Justin, bring me my card!!!!” and ordered as fast as my fingers could move since I was so scared it would sell out again. We received it on Friday, got it all set up and we love it! Justin said he wasn’t sure if he was going to like it at first after I ordered it, but thank god he trusts me because he does really like it now that he has seen it in person.

This piece would work in a lot of different spaces, but it flows especially well with bohemian decor and alongside anything rattan… AKA our entire house. It has a little bit of a mid-century modern vibe as well, so it’s versatile. I’m planning on doing a dedicated blog post reviewing this piece once we’ve had it for a while so I can speak further on its durability. I’ve linked some other pieces in the line below!

PEACOCK CHAIR

I’m STILL in shock about this find. To give you a little bit of a backstory on how we found it, Justin and I had a completely free day last weekend with zero plans. To get out of the house and kill time, we decided to go up to the north side of Indy and shop around. With no intention of buying anything, we wondered into HomeGoods and I saw this bad boy right by the front door. I WAS SHOOK! I’d never seen anything like this at a TJ Maxx or HomeGoods and I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I snagged it for just under $300, which is an amazing price compared to most you can find online, as shown below. If you’re on the hunt for one, I recommend scoping out local thrift stores too!

BRASS LIGHT FIXTURE

It took me so long to decide on which light fixture to get for our living room, which is so stupid because I knew the exact style I wanted from the beginning. 😂 I was unsure of what size to get, so I think that’s what held me back for a little while. Anyway, I finally bought this one and I’m so happy with it! The brushed brass color matches our lamp, kitchen pendants and cabinet hardware perfectly and I love how simplistic it is while still being eye-catching. I love that you can move each of the arms to create whatever look you want, and the height is adjustable too.

PILLOWS

I got this orange-ish/red bohemian pillow from HomeGoods and this cream fringe one from Target for our couch. Both were under $30 and are comfy, which is a must for us since we spend a lot of time here. Urban Outfitters is known for having some of the cutest boho pillows, but you can get similar stuff for a fraction of the price elsewhere, so I encourage shopping around for good deals. Pillows can get dingy and suffer from everyday wear & tear anyway, so I find so much more value in buying moderately priced one that we can replace a few years from now if need be. Linked below is the cream one and some others with a similar vibe.

WOODEN BEAD TASSELS

I touched on these in Friday’s blog post, so I’ll make this quick. These tassels add such fun detail in an expected way. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on these and you could even make them yourself for a more customized look. I got mine at Kirkland’s (the one in Greenwood for those of you who are local), but since they don’t sell them online, I’ve linked some similar ones from Amazon below:

Those are our home decor additions over the last couple months! I hope you enjoyed this post and are feeling inspired by your space, because that’s what I hope this content achieves. It’s never too late to turn your space into one that inspires you and feels authentic to your style! Anyway, thanks for reading and see you in Wednesday’s post!
